Community
Education
CTS'
primary goal is to educate the public on the importance of tissue
and organ donation. CTS staff members are available to speak to
your community organizations, religious groups, corporations and
educational institutes including junior high schools, high schools
and colleges. CTS also participates at health fairs and community
events, providing displays and information. To schedule a speaker
or for more information, please contact your local
tissue branch or call 800-684-7783 ext. 3364.
High School Education
CTS designed an educational program for high school students. This exciting program teaches students the importance of tissue and organ donation, as well as how to register to become a donor. Our goal is to provide students with information
so they can make an informed decision regarding donation. The students
will also learn how to discuss the subject of donation with their
family. The program includes the following:
- Lesson Plan
- PowerPoint Presentation
- Student Guide (includes Pre and Post Tests)
- Letter to Parents
- Brochure
- Video
The curriculum will allow a CTS staff member to come to your
school and educate students on the importance of donation.
If you are a teacher and would like more information on this new
program, please contact your local
tissue branch or call 800-684-7783
ext. 3364.
Hospital Education
CTS provides ongoing educational
opportunities for health professionals. CTS Staff members offer in-services
that provide nurses with information about CTS, tissue
donation, eligibility criteria of what tissue may be donated and
recovered, and uses and benefits of tissue grafts. To schedule a
training session, please contact your local
tissue branch.
